India’s PM Modi Issues Strong Warning to Pakistan Over Terrorism and Water Rights

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a resolute message on national security, counterterrorism, and India’s stance on Pakistan during a public rally in Bikaner, Rajasthan, on Thursday. Addressing the recent counterterror operation under Operation Sindoor in response to a Pakistan-sponsored terror attack in Pahalgam, Modi emphasized India’s unwavering resolve to combat terrorism at all costs.

Modi stated that India had given its armed forces a ‘free hand’ in the operation, which led to a swift and decisive strike on May 7. ‘In response to the attacks on the 22nd, within just 22 minutes, our forces destroyed nine of the biggest terrorist bases,’ he said. ‘The enemies of India, both within and outside, have now seen what happens when sindoor turns into gunpowder,’ Modi added, referencing a proverb that underscores the severity of the situation.

On Pakistan, Modi ruled out any possibility of dialogue or trade, stating, ‘There will be no talks and no trade with Pakistan. If there are talks, they will only be about Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.’ He warned that if Pakistan continues to export terror, it would face dire consequences, vowing to block India’s rightful share of river water from flowing into the neighboring country.

Modi also rejected nuclear threats from across the border, asserting, ‘India will not be scared of nuclear threats.’ In a poignant moment, he said, ‘Not blood, but sindoor runs in my veins,’ and added that those who tried to erase India’s spirit ‘have been reduced to dust.’ His remarks reflected a deep emotional connection to the nation and its resilience.

The Prime Minister reiterated his 2019 pledge, ‘Saugandh mujhe iss Desh ki mitti ki, mein desh nahi mitne dunga, mein desh nahi Jhukne dunga,’ emphasizing his commitment to preserving India’s sovereignty and integrity.

Modi also emphasized that any future response to terrorist attacks on India will be decisive and entirely led by the armed forces, in both timing and strategy. ‘If there is another terrorist strike on India, our forces will choose the time and method of the reply,’ he said, reinforcing the idea that India is prepared to act swiftly and decisively in the face of threats.

India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 against Pakistan-sponsored terrorism, with Indian armed forces under its major counterterror operation destroying nine terror hideouts in Pakistan and PoK. The operation targeted high-value assets, including the Jaish-e-Mohammed headquarters in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba’s Muridke camp.
