India’s Global Outreach Begins: MPs Travel to Japan, UAE to Expose Pakistan’s Role in Terrorism

India’s diplomatic efforts to convey its stance on Operation Sindoor and highlight Pakistan’s involvement in terrorism have taken a significant step forward. A series of delegations, led by members of various political parties, are set to travel to multiple countries, including Japan, the UAE, and others, to present India’s position to the international community.

The first delegation, led by JDU MP Sanjay Jha, will depart today for a journey that includes Indonesia, Malaysia, the Republic of Korea, Japan, and Singapore. The team consists of BJP members Aparajita Sarangi, Brij Lal, Hemang Joshi, and Pradan Baruah, along with representatives from the Trinamool Congress, CPM, and former diplomats Salman Khurshid and Mohan Kumar.

Following this, the delegation led by Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde will travel to the UAE, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Sierra Leone, and Liberia. This group includes BJP members Bansuri Swaraj, Atul Garg, and Manan Kumar Mishra, along with former MP SS Ahluwalia, Indian Union Muslim League MP ET Mohammed Basheity, and former diplomat Sujan Chinoy.

Before departure, CPM’s John Brittas stated to NDTV that the team will travel to Japan at 11:30 am today, with plans to visit South Korea and return on June 3, 2025.

JDU’s Sanjay Jha emphasized that terrorism is a state policy in Pakistan. He noted that India has faced this issue for 40 years and that the country’s democratic principles are under threat. He also highlighted the Indus Water Treaty as a symbol of friendship, which he claims has been violated by Pakistan.

BJP’s Aparajita Sarangi stated that the outreach aims to explain India’s position on cross-border terrorism and its strategies for combating it. She emphasized that India is against all forms of terrorism and that the government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to zero tolerance for such activities.

BJP MP Brij Lal pointed out that the delegations have been tasked with exposing Pakistan’s narrative. He cited a 30-year record of attacks, including the Parliament attack and the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, and highlighted the need to present the truth to the international community.

Other delegations, led by Congress’s Shashi Tharoor, DMK’s K Kanimozhi, NCP (SP)’s Supriya Sule, BJP’s Baijayant Panda, and BJP’s Ravi Shankar Prasad, will depart in the coming days. These delegations will travel to 33 countries and the European Union’s headquarters, engaging with leaders, intellectuals, and expatriates.

The outreach follows India’s airstrikes in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir under Operation Sindoor, which were carried out in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, where 26 innocents were murdered. While India targeted terror bases, Pakistan responded with attacks on civilian areas and military installations. India’s air defense system intercepted these drones, and the country then targeted Pakistani military installations before a ceasefire was announced.
